Carbon Project Development
From first concept through to issued credits. The work runs from screening a project for eligibility, to designing it around the methodology that fits, to writing the PDD and the monitoring plan, to carrying it through validation and verification. It also covers the core technical work: building the additionality and baseline case, running the quantification, accounting for permanence and leakage, and documenting everything so each number stands up when someone tests it.
Verification & Registry Support
Before a VVB ever sees the project, I assemble and stress-test the evidence, work out where findings are likely to land, and resolve them as they come up. The registry mechanics are part of this too, from opening accounts and listing the project to managing submissions across the registries and standards I work in, including Verra, CAR, ACR, Gold Standard, and Puro.earth.
Methodology & Standards Advisory
The right standard and methodology aren't always obvious, and the wrong choice gets expensive fast. I compare eligibility, quantification, and crediting rules across standards, estimate feasibility and rough credit volumes, and tell you where the requirements leave room for interpretation, where conservative assumptions make sense, and where the real risk sits. You'll also know whether a project pencils out before you commit to it.
MRV & Monitoring Design
I build the data model and the monitoring plan, define what gets measured and how, set up chain-of-custody and mass-balance tracking, and create audit-ready templates and documentation. When the people doing the monitoring aren't carbon specialists, I write guidance they can follow on their own.

For companies or industries cutting emissions inside their own supply chains, who need those reductions to be verifiable when they’re claimed.
Insetting Program Design
Insetting is project development inside a company’s own supply chain. I design the change and the framework for measuring it, from setting the baseline (what emissions would have been without it) and deciding which practice changes count, to the sampling and measurement plans that run on the farm. Permanence is part of this too: a soil carbon gain can reverse, so the plan accounts for that from the start, and each reduction is documented back to the practice that produced it.
Scope 3 Claims & Strategy
What a company can claim from a supply chain reduction is still being worked out, and getting it wrong is a reputational risk. I help sustainability teams fit a reduction into their Scope 3 strategy and SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) targets, review what their customers and industry expect, and work out which claims the numbers support and which they don’t. Where the guidance is unsettled, I’ll lay out the conservative position and what it costs you.
Methodology-Grade Quantification
Many companies I’ve worked with want the rigor of a crediting methodology without committing to certified credits. I match the intervention to the methodology that fits, whether an existing crediting methodology or one of the newer value chain standards like the Verra Scope 3 Standard, and apply its rules for measuring the reduction and proving it happened. Everything is documented to the level an independent verifier would expect, so certification stays open as a later decision without redoing the work.
Supplier Data & Field Monitoring
I build the data collection framework and templates, train the farm and supplier staff who hold the data to use them, and check what comes in against the monitoring plan. Wherever possible I pull records straight from equipment and existing farm systems, so nothing gets entered twice. When a customer or an auditor asks where a number came from, the evidence trail runs all the way back to the source.
