About

Alicia Klepfer

I'm Alicia Klepfer, and Klepfer Carbon Integrity is my independent consulting practice. I've spent roughly a decade in the voluntary and compliance carbon markets — from agricultural soil carbon and oil & gas methane reductions to enteric methane and biochar carbon removal.

Most of that time has gone into the gap between what a methodology says on paper and what it actually takes to satisfy it in practice — where the language is genuinely ambiguous, where conservative assumptions are warranted, and where the documentation has to be airtight to survive verification.

I've worked both sides of that work. At times I've been the proponent of record — designing projects, holding the registry account, and carrying them through to credit issuance. At others I've built the tools and capacity that help other developers do the same. That dual vantage means I understand not just what a project needs, but where it tends to break.

My approach is plain: I name the problem honestly, even when the requirements are ambiguous or the right interpretation isn't obvious, then find the lowest-risk path through it. A carbon credit is only as good as the documentation behind it, and I build mine to hold up.
